founder + chief disruptor
Caroline Kim Palacios is a proven social sector leader, fundraiser, and entrepreneur who partners with mission-driven organizations and small businesses to grow their impact by harnessing the power of disruption. Motivated by her own experiences as a native Angelena of proud immigrant heritage, her “North Star” value for centering the voice of community drives her commitment to advancing equity, opportunity, and agency for all.
With a talent for translating complex challenges into precise, data-informed strategies, Caroline has dedicated her career to helping organizations navigate change, achieve sustainable growth, and amplify their impact. She has engaged strategic partnerships between grassroots and national nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and the business community to drive mission-driven change. Over the past decade, she has led major initiatives to establish flagship programs to increase degree attainment among first generation students, improve health outcomes for youth of color across Southern California communities, reimagine workforce development for a more inclusive, post-pandemic economy, and expand immigrant rights through civic empowerment. As an equity-focused fundraiser, she has worked to create more inclusive and culture-affirming approaches to giving and grantmaking, which has helped raise millions of dollars for community-led initiatives.
Her most recent work as chief strategist at dsrptq (/dis’rupt-ik) has focused on providing strategic guidance for adapting program and business models for nonprofits and small businesses experiencing challenges due to the pandemic. She serves on the board of the Korean American Democratic Committee and as a coach for small business leaders through the USC Bridges Program. Caroline received her Master's of Public Administration and Certificate in Public Policy from the USC Price School and her B.A. in Diplomacy & World Affairs from Occidental College.
